This course is for anyone with the responsibility for presenting a company's best face to the world, in good times and in bad. It is about developing the right mindset to project a positive impression at all times, and avoiding the careless comments that can send the company's share price into freefall. It is about being proactive in managing the news and maintaining a mutually helpful relationship with the media.
It includes techniques for dealing with interviews with both the written and the broadcast media -- and telephone interviews as well. It reveals the secrets of writing readable press releases, and how to maximise your chances of getting them published. It includes strategies and techniques for passing on bad news. And it provides guidance on avoiding the pitfalls that can result in embarrassing or harmful headlines.
Participants will be interviewed on camera and on the telephone. They will role play crises and be shown how to produce a practical plan for managing a crisis. They will be challenged in a supportive environment and leave with a clear understanding of how to manage their firm's publicity, especially when the media spotlight falls on them.
